Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made

Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made

I just started to read Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made Until Death Do Us Part 死がふたりを分かつまで by TAKASHIGE Hiroshi たかしげ 宙 and DOUBLE-S 송 지형 and published in the US by Yen Press originally published in Japan in Young GanGan (Square Enix).  This is a seinen sf battle drama with a romantic subplot that is a fascinating read.

About a young psychic girl and a blind swordsman, with a back up group with contention within over the blind swordsman and plenty of enemies, including a small African country.  Throw in loads of yakuza and proficient police detective.  Plenty of action for those who need their action fix, and with a satisfying story for those that need a good story; plus the females in the story (although not many, are main characters) are very strong in many ways.

20 volumes and ongoing in Japan, and Yen Press is publishing as bunkobon and has 4 out so far with volume 5 due out in December.  One would like a faster release of the bunkobons since the story is riveting.

Inu x Boku Secret Service 妖狐×僕SS Youko x Boku SS  by FUJIWARA Cocoa 藤原ここあ – finally is being released in the US this year – both anime and the manga!  The manga will be released starting in October by Yen Press and was originally published in Square Enix.  The anime has just been released in the US.

****Spoiler Alert****

I love this series.  Although there are two parts to it.  It’s about Maison de Ayakashi and it’s yokai inhabitants.  Although a shonen manga/anime, tons of bishies for fan service, and for some reason Square Enix gets some excellent women writing Shonen (not just FUJIWARA Cocoa            藤原ここあ, think about their most famous series – Fullmetal Alchemist    鋼の錬金術師 Hagane no Renkinjutsush, also by a woman writing shonen for Square Enix) and the stories are well loved by the female audience also.  It’s a bit zany; however, as stated above there are two parts to it and the first part doesn’t end well for the inhabitants of Maison de Ayakashi.

In Japan there are 8 volumes and it’s still ongoing.  If you love ayakashi/yokai, comedy, warm stories with zanie characters and a dark undertone, please give this a try.
